I have created this blog to help stimulate debate regarding the controversial 'Brutalist' architectural style so often demonised without consideration of its true merits. Yet more and more people are expressing an admiration for the style, showing that tastes are changing, making it a necessity to re-evaluate our attitude to brutalist buildings so often dismissed. Brutalism is a historical style like any other and thus is just as worthy of preservation and retention for the benefit of future generations.
Chamberlin Powell & Bon One of the most significant architectural partnerships in post-war Britain. Their most significant works were undoubtedly the golden lane estate which first made them well known, built in a truly modernist style and on the site next door their masterpiece, the barbican estate built in a monumental brutalist style.
